MCDL is Open FAQ

What is MCDL doing to keep staff and the public safe?

Read our COVID-19 Statement on Health and Safety to learn the measures being taken for cleanliness, social distancing, and what we advise members to do upon your return.

What are your open hours?

MCDL is open with temporary, abbreviated hours.
Mon., Wed., Fri., Sat.   10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Tues. & Thurs.  3:00 pm – 8:00 pm
The first hour of each day is encouraged for vulnerable populations.

When are the Book Drops open?

Walk-up book drops are always open at all libraries. Additionally, the drive-up book drop at Medina and Brunswick will be open every Friday at 3:00 pm through 8:30 am Monday morning. This is to ensure the 4 day quarantine recommendation for all library materials before processing at our high-volume libraries.

Which services are not returning right away?

All library programs, events, play areas, meeting rooms, Bookmobile stops, and Friends of the Library book sales are suspended until further notice. We are not currently accepting donations.

Will my library items be overdue or considered lost due to the library closing?

MCDL is a Fine Free library. Even with auto renewals, items checked out before the March closing have reached their limit and will be charged as lost.  You will receive a bill for items 21 days past the due date. If you have questions about your borrowed materials check your account online at mcdl.info or call your local library.

Do you offer contact-free materials pick up?

Yes. Call your library to take advantage of Anytime Lockers or Curbside Service for your holds or reserved items pickup. Anytime Lockers are available 24/7. Curbside Service is available at all locations, except Seville, during library open hours.

Can I place a hold in the online catalog?

Yes.  You can request items from most libraries through the CLEVNET catalog.

I need Reference Help but don’t want to come to the library, what are my options?

Ask Reference questions during open hours by calling your library or by chat. Email questions or requests for your specific branch as well.
