$25 buys a colorful picture book for MCDL’s Early Childhood Librarian to share with a Head Start preschool class.
$50 allows an Outreach Librarian to deliver books, and visit for a while, with two homebound seniors.
$100 buys books for and covers the Teen Librarian’s expenses for the book club at the Juvenile Detention Center.
MCDL is undertaking a sizeable historical records project to benefit local history and genealogy projects. Donations to digitally preserve the library’s collection of newspapers, memorabilia and family records are welcome and appreciated.

All MCDL libraries feature a donor wall honoring the names of individuals and businesses who have donated to the library general fund.
Memorials are often best presented in this featured area of the library. Business logos and names may also be applied to the donor wall.

The Medina Library began in 1907 with a personal donation from farmer and businessman, Franklin Sylvester. Since then, private funds have helped MCDL achieve a level of excellence that consistently exceeds basic tax-dollar funded services.
During the MCDL library building project (2003-2008) several families and individuals made large donations to the libraries through wills, estates and stocks.

Corporate Support and In Kind Donations
More than 3,000 people use Medina County District Libraries every day. Corporate support and sponsorships are vital to MCDL’s mission of “enriching life in the community with outstanding and innovative library services for all.” Corporate sponsorships allow your business to invest in the library and community, while promoting your business.
MCDL hosts nearly 2,000 workshops, classes and story time programs annually, from the WWII Roundtable to senior computer classes to eclectic teen events and children’s educational programs.
Here are a few ways partnerships with the community and businesses enhance MCDL's offerings:
- PNC bank funded Symphony Storytimes with the Canton Symphony Orchestra at all MCDL libraries and neighboring schools.
- Local restaurants such as Jimmy John’s, Sushi on the Roll and Gionino’s Pizza donate food to Teen programs at the library, because what is a Teen program without food, right?
- The Kiwanis Club of Medina, Waite and Son Funeral Homes, VFW’s and other service organizations funded the WWII Video Project, preserving the memories of our Greatest Generation.
